Adela Casacuberta
Mexico City, 1978. Lives and works in Montevideo.
She has exhibited her work both individually and collectively since 2001. She recently opened the site-specific installation Rosé Fungi in the museum gardens, as well as the solo show Adela Casacuberta, both at the National Museum of Visual Arts. Her work includes Mímesis, which she has developed through solo exhibitions, residencies, and workshops in France, Mexico, and Uruguay. She directed the curatorial studio harto_espacio, with which she produced exhibitions in Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Bogotá, Mexico City, and Prague. She is a member of the collective Sur-Sur, composed of artists from Argentina, Australia, and Uruguay.
Her work has twice got the Culture National Fund (2023 and 2006) and also the Artistic Creation Fund (2023 and 2017), both from the Uruguayan Ministry of Education and Culture. Selected for the National Visual Arts Award (2024 and 2020) and the Montevideo Visual Arts Award (2023).

Expone su obra individual y colectivamente desde el 2001.
Recientemente inauguró la instalación Hongos rosados en los jardines del museo y la exposición Adela Casacuberta, ambas en el Museo Nacional de Artes Visuales. Entre su obra se destaca Mímesis que ha desarrollado a través de exposiciones individuales, residencias y tutorías en Francia, México y Uruguay. Dirigió el estudio de curaduría harto_espacio con el que produjo exposiciones en Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Bogotá, Ciudad de México y Praga. Pertenece al colectivo Sur-Sur integrado por artistas de Argentina, Australia y Uruguay.
Su trabajo ha obtenido en dos ocasiones el Fondo Concursable para la Cultura (2023 y 2006) y también el Fondo de Estímulo a la Formación y Creación Artística (2023 y 2017), ambos del Ministerio de Educación y Cultura de Uruguay. Seleccionada en el Premio Nacional de Artes Visuales (2024 y 2020) y en el Premio Montevideo de Artes Visuales (2023).
